Save frequently used question combinations as field templates. They cut down on repetitive work when building surveys and help your team share a consistent question format, so everyone can spin up surveys in the same format quickly.
Creating a Field Template from the Project Editor
You can instantly save questions from the survey you're currently building as a template.
- Save a single question: In the field list, click the
...(more) menu on the question you want and chooseSave as Field Template. - Save multiple questions at once:
Turn on bulk edit
Turn on the Bulk Edit toggle in the top right.
Select questions and save
Check the questions you want to include, then click Save as Field Template.
Name the template
Enter a template name in the popup and create it.
Warning
Some questions that require workspace authentication (such as 'Toss Payments') may not be available for template saving.
Editing Templates Directly from the Library
You can also edit existing templates in the library, or build a new template from scratch there.
- Open the library: Go to [Team Library] > [Field Templates] on the left side of your dashboard.
- Add and configure questions:
Add a question
For empty templates, click the + Add Question button.
Choose a question type
Pick the question type you want (multiple choice, short text, contact info, etc.) to add it.
Review and manage order
Check and manage the order of added questions in the 'Question List' panel on the left.
- Configure detailed properties:
Click a question
Click the question you want to edit, and you can update the field title, response validation (required, etc.), and security settings in the Options panel on the right.
Check your changes
When you make changes, an 'Unsaved changes' banner appears at the top.
Save the template
Once you're done editing, click Save Template in the top right to apply your changes.
Using a Saved Template
With a single click, you can load your preset questions when creating a new project.
Find the Templates section
At the bottom of the Add Field screen (the center popup) in the survey editor, you'll see a Templates section.
Pick a template
Click the template you want to use (e.g., 'Contact Info', 'Example 2', etc.).
Done
All questions and settings from the template are instantly applied to your survey.
Tip
Even if you modify the loaded template for a specific project, the original template in the library is left untouched.
