Saving Responses TemporarilyPro

When a respondent isn't able to finish a survey in one sitting, they can save their progress and come back to finish it later. There are two ways to use temporary saving.

Automatic Temporary Saving

  • Click the ⚙️ button at the top right and open the 'Response' tab.
  • A respondent's inputs are automatically saved to their browser.
  • Saved responses are kept for 15 days and then automatically deleted.
  • Note: saving does not work in incognito (private) mode.
  • If the respondent closes and reopens the survey, their previous inputs will still be there.

Save Response by Signing In

  • Click the ⚙️ button at the top right and open the 'Response' tab.
  • Respondents can save progress while signed in with a Google account.
  • To set it up:
    1. Enable 'Save progress when signed in'
    2. Enable 'Prevent duplicate responses'
    3. Enable 'Require email login'
  • With this setup, signed-in users can stop mid-survey and resume later by logging back in with the same account.

Tip

Automatic temporary saving is convenient but may be cleared depending on the browser. If you need reliable progress saving, the 'Save response by signing in' method is the safest choice.
