Description and Embed Fields
When you want to display guidance text, images, tables, or web pages alongside your survey, use the description and embed fields.
Description Field
- Use this for cover pages, section dividers, instructional text, or any free-form descriptive content.
- The text editor lets you apply various styles such as text color, size, and weight.
- You can also use slash (/) commands to easily insert images, tables, headings, and more.
Tip
Using description fields effectively to separate sections or add guidance helps respondents understand the survey content more easily.
Embed Field
- Paste a website URL to display that web page directly inside your Walla form.
Embedding a YouTube video
Paste a YouTube share URL or embed code into an embed field and the video plays right inside the survey.
Click Share on YouTube
Open the video you want to embed on YouTube and click the Share button below it.
Choose Embed in the share modal
When the share modal opens, click the Embed option on the far left.
Copy only the URL from the embed code
Instead of the whole iframe tag, drag and copy only the URL inside the src attribute, the one starting with https://www.youtube.com/embed/...
Click Embed URL in the Walla embed field
Add an embed field in the Walla project editor and click the Embed URL button inside it.
Paste the URL and click Embed
Paste the YouTube embed URL you copied into the input box, then click the Embed button.
Check the result
You'll see the YouTube video displayed inside the survey, ready to play.
Embedding Google Calendar
Paste a Google Calendar share URL into an embed field to show schedule and booking information right inside the survey.
Open the share options in Google Calendar
Click the event or appointment you want to embed, then choose More share options from the ⋮ (more) menu in the popup.
Embed on website → expand Inline booking page
Select the Embed on website tab at the top of the share modal, then click Inline booking page at the bottom to expand it.
Copy only the URL from the embed code
Instead of the whole iframe tag in the Embed code area, drag and copy only the URL inside src="...", the one starting with https://calendar.google.com/....
Click Embed URL in the Walla embed field
Add an embed field in the Walla project editor and click the Embed URL button inside it.
Paste the URL and click Embed
Paste the Google Calendar URL you copied into the input box, then click the Embed button.
Check the result
You'll see the calendar's time-slot picker displayed as-is inside the survey.
Caution
- Depending on the external site's security policies or HTTPS configuration, the embed may not display properly.
- If you paste a regular URL and see a "… refused to connect" message, try again with the site's dedicated embed link.
