Setting Up Logic
Logic controls the flow of a survey based on the respondent's answers. Instead of always running in the same order, the survey can branch down different paths depending on how respondents reply.
The Concept of Logic
- Logic determines "where the next question leads based on the response."
- The default path is the flow every respondent goes through. (This is a different concept from 'Required'.)
Adding Logic
Open the Logic Settings
In the project editor, click the Logic button to open the logic settings screen.
Understand Condition and Go to
Logic is made up of two parts: a 'Condition' and a 'Go to' action.
Condition
- Select the reference field – Choose which field's response the logic should be based on.
- Select a condition – Pick the type of condition. Conditions fall into text/value, choice, number, and date comparisons — see Condition Types in Detail below for the full list.
- Select the option/response – Choose which response triggers the condition.
- You can select multiple responses at the same time.
Adding Multiple Conditions
- Click
+ Add new conditionto combine multiple conditions. - When combining conditions, choose one of the following:
- AND: The logic runs only when both the previous and following conditions are satisfied.
- OR: The logic runs when either the previous or the following condition is satisfied.
Go to
- Once all conditions are set, choose which field the respondent should move to.
- When configured, any respondent who meets the condition jumps straight to the specified question.
Condition Types in Detail

Choice comparison
Use this on questions where several items can be picked, such as multiple choice and checkbox questions, to test which options were selected.

Setting Up Logic with Nodes
Look at the nodes and connectors
On the logic screen, each question appears as a node and the connectors between nodes show the flow. Default path is the flow every respondent takes, while numbered branches such as Logic #1 and Logic #2 are the paths that split off based on conditions.
Set the default path
Click the Default path label on a node to open a dropdown for choosing the Next field. Search for a field or pick one from the list to set where respondents who match no condition go next.
Edit conditions on a logic node
Clicking a numbered branch label such as Logic #1 or Logic #2 expands the condition area right there. You can edit the reference field, the condition, and the options directly on the node, or add a New condition.
Click a connector to edit it directly
After selecting a field, you can click the connector between nodes directly to edit that flow — no need to click the Logic or Default path label on the node.
Drag nodes to connect them
Drag the connection point at the bottom of a node onto another question node to link the two directly and create a flow. Drawing a new connector sends respondents down that path.

If logic breaks midway, it's most likely because a rejection field sits in the middle of the flow, or an earlier question's logic is misconfigured.

Questions inside a field group can each have their own logic. If logic points to a specific question, the view starts from the group that contains it.

Clicking the
Resetbutton removes all logic from the current question.
